The Editor-In-Chief (EIC) supervises the day to day operation of the newspaper. Primarily a management position, the EIC is the spokesperson for the Ontarion.
With regards to the newspaper, the EIC is responsible for all content (except advertising). Specifically, the EIC is the contact person for opinion articles, weekly columns and other general inquiries for the newspaper.
The editorial department consists of the News Editor, Features Editor, Sports Editor, Arts & Culture Editor, Photo & Graphics Editor, Layout Director and any Work Study Positions. The EIC is responsible for the running of this department.
The business department is crucial to the development and production of the newspaper. The advertising dollars account for 70% of the Ontarion's operating revenue. The dedicated team within the business department maintains open communication with the office and the greater Guelph community.
